ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Hartwick Women's Tennis team started their season with a come-from-behind win against town rival, SUNY Oneonta on Thursday afternoon.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Hartwick found themselves behind early in the match, dropping both first and second doubles.
- However, a win at third doubles by the tandem of Colleen Marsh (Marcellus, N.Y.) and Maddi Morrison (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) kept the Hawks within striking distance heading into singles play.
- Maggie Van Valkenburgh (Highland, N.Y.) helped Hartwick tie the match up with a dominant 6-0, 6-0 victory at sixth singles.
- The Hawks went up 3-2 after Lily Vanuga (Springville, N.Y.) won in straight sets by scores of 6-2, 6-2.
- Phoebe Olson (Jamestown, N. Dak.) put the team one step closer to winning the match, defeating her first singles opponent 6-2, 6-4.
- Up four matches to three, the Hawks turned their attention to second and fifth singles where both Jade Killikelly (Jamaica, N.Y.) and Marsh took their opponents to a third set.
- Marsh was the first to finish, coming back from a first set loss to defeat her fifth singles opponent 6-3 in the final set to secure the victory for the Hawks.
