WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • The Hawks opened the True Blue Saturday athletic events, dominating the Soaring Eagles from start to finish, notching three goals in the first quarter.
  • Dani Hand (Queensbury, N.Y.) put the first one away after getting a stick on a Libby Fortin (State College, Pa.) drive towards the cage.
  • Senior, Julie Ruzzi (High Falls, N.Y.) took over from there, scoring back-to-back goals to close out the first quarter scoring.  Picking up assists on those goals were Hand and Fortin respectively.
  • Hartwick exploded in the second quarter as the first-year players took over with four different players notching goals.
  • Kate Klotz (South Glens Falls, N.Y.) picked up the first goal of the quarter, tipping a pass from Natalie O'Malley (Pleasantville, N.Y.) just inside the right post.
  • Cheyenne Stilwell (Gasport, N.Y.) picked up two unassisted goals within 52 seconds of each other starting with a tally off of a lift that went over the Elmira keeper's left shoulder.  The midfielder followed that up with a bullet from just inside the right half of the circle to make the score 6-0.
  • Hope Angioletti (Hopewell Junction, N.Y) notched her goal in the 27 minute of play with a strike into the top left corner of the goal.
  • After assisting Klotz, O'Malley found the back of the cage, tipping in an Angioletti drive inside the left post to close out the scoring in the second.
