ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Hartwick Women's Tennis team battled through every match, but it wasn't enough to overcome the nationally ranked RPI Engineers on Friday afternoon.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The visiting Engineers asserted themselves early, sweeping all three doubles matches.
- The Hawks picked up at least one game in each match, with the second doubles tandem of Ryann Ashby (Malta, N.Y.) and Lily Vanuga (Springville, N.Y.) picking up two games.
- Phoebe Olson (Jamestown, N.Dak.) dropped her first set 6-1 against the Engineers' top player at the first singles spot. Despite taking the loss in the second, the sophomore picked up four games in the set.
- At the other five spots, Hartwick made each game of the sets close, with each player picking up at least one game win.
UP NEXT FOR THE HAWKS
The Hawks continue their non-conference fall schedule with a road trip to Pennsylvania tomorrow to take on Wilkes University tomorrow at noon.
