Men's Swim and Dive Takes Down Alfred State


ALFRED, N.Y. – The Hartwick Men's Swim and Dive traveled to Alfred University for a dual meet against Alfred State College.

 

 WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • The Men got their afternoon started with the 200 yard medley relay, the relay squad consisted of Owen James (St. Lutz, Fla.), Hassan Abdelwahed ( New Hartford, N.Y.), Mikey Schultz (Binghamton, N.Y.) and Sebastian Knowles (Plano, Tex.) finished the relay at one minute and forty seconds to grab second place.

  • Cameron Drake (El Cajon, Cal.) took first place in the 1000 yard freestyle, clocking in at ten minutes and fifteen seconds. Drake took the 500 yard freestyle later on, completing the race in four minutes and fifty five seconds.

  • Bryce Rogers (Fulton, N.Y.) took first place in the following event which was the 200 yard freestyle, with a time of one minute and forty nine seconds. Rogers placed first in the 100 yard freestyle too, clocking in at 50.37 seconds.

  • Abdelwahed won the 100 yard breaststroke with a 58 second finish, Abdelwahed completed the 200 yard breaststroke in two minutes and thirteen seconds for first place.

  • Schultz took the 200 yard butterfly in one minute and fifty four seconds to keep the momentum on Hartwick's side. The 100 yard butterfly also went to Schultz as he timed in at 50.99 seconds. Mikey finished off the day by taking the 200 IM as well with a finish of two minutes.

  • The Hawks defeated Alfred State 161-101.

Hartwick will send their divers to Ithaca's Dick Comanzo Diving Invitational on Sunday, January 28th at 10:00 AM.
