DELHI, N.Y. – The Hawks held the lead for the majority of the contest, but were unable to withstand a late second half push by the Broncos, falling 67-66.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The Hawks jumped on the Broncos quickly, scoring nine unanswered before SUNY Delhi could get on the board.
- Eventually, Hartwick pulled out to a 10-point lead mid-way through the first half.
- The Broncos responded on their home court, putting together a run that would find themselves up by one with just over three minutes remaining in the half.
- However, a tip-in layup by Henry Perkins (Albany, N.Y.) swung the momentum back into the Hawks' favor as the team went on to take a seven-point lead into the break.
- The Hawks stayed ahead of a handful short scoring bursts from the Broncos for the first ten minutes of the second half.
- SUNY Delhi's persistence eventually paid off with 8:55 remaining in the half with a big three-pointer to tie the score up at 54-54.
- From that point on, the contest would turn into a back-and-forth battle with neither team gaining more than a four-point lead.
- Down three with 53 seconds remaining, Hartwick Head Coach Brad Cooper called a timeout to organize his squad for the comeback.
- Cosmo Hardinson (Larchmont, N.Y.) drove into the key for a layup to get the Hawks within one with 42 seconds remaining.
- The Hawks made one more defensive stand, giving them a chance for the win down the stretch.
- Unfortunately, the winning shot would not go in as Delhi went on to defeat Hartwick 67-66.
- Perkins, who posted a double-double in the first half with 16 points and 10 boards, went on to finish the night with 23 points and 12 rebounds.
- Mike Gitz (Commack, N.Y.) also finished in double figures for the Hawks with 13.
