WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • The Hawks matched up with the Gators of Russell Sage, looking to make it two wins in a row after their home rout of SUNY Poly on Saturday.

  • Hartwick was faced with adversity early, succumbing to a 15-0 run to open the contest.

  • Macy Durkin (Syracuse, N.Y.) was able to snap the cold streak and get the Hawks on the board with a driving layup.

  • Yadi Smith (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) connected on the corner three to close out the first quarter with the Royal Blue & White trailing by 12.

  • The Hawks slowly worked their way within reach, led by Macy Durkin breaking down the Gator defense.

  • Daniella DeBiase (Staten Island, N.Y.) drained the long range jumper to pull the squad within eight as the first half came to a close.

  • Unfortunately, the Gators continued to connect from the field at a high rate, powered by their three point shooting.

  • Back to back threes from Smith and Seneca Williamson (Hudson Falls, N.Y.) swung the momentum to the Royal Blue & White as the third quarter began to whittle down.

  • Durkin sank the last second layup in the third quarter as Hartwick had one remaining quarter to erase the nine point deficit.

  • The Hawks opened the fourth with high intensity as Durkin carved the Gator defense twice for two driving layups.

  • A three pointer from DeBiase brought the Hawks within four with three minutes remaining in the game.

  • Russell Sage used a 9-1 run in the final three minutes to close the door on the Hawks' comeback attempt.

  • Despite the loss, Durkin stuffed the stat sheet, pouring in 17 points while collecting seven rebounds, three steals, two assists and two blocks.

UP NEXT FOR THE HAWKS
