  • Location: Oneonta, N.Y.

  • Records: Russell Sage (11-14, 9-7 Empire 8) Hartwick (6-18, 4-12 Empire 8)

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • Hartwick prepared for their final home contest of the season, squaring off against the Russell Sage Gators who picked up the victory in their last outing in Albany.

  • The Gators got the night started with five straight points before Emma Cohen (Utica, N.Y.) knocked down the opening score for the Hawks, driving and getting to the rim after the feed from Niamh Kelly (Latham, N.Y.).

  • A deep three from Daniella DeBiase (Staten Island, N.Y.) and a driving score from Syd Delisle (Mechanicville, N.Y.) got the Hawks right back into the contest, trailing by one possession with four minutes remaining in the first.

  • Natalie Vredenburgh (Delhi, N.Y.) injected her squad with new momentum, sinking the driving layup with the foul. Vredenburgh converted on the free throw then connected on another layup on the ensuing possession.

  • DeBiase drilled a right wing three pointer in the closing seconds of the first, assisted by Vredenburgh as the Hawks headed into the second quarter down four.

  • The first five minutes of the second were highlighted by great team defenses from both sides as only one bucket was scored in the first five minutes.

  • Seneca Willamson (Hudson Falls, N.Y.) jump started the Hawks' offense, draining a three pointer for her first bucket of the night.

  • Williamson corralled the rebound off a Gator miss and pushed it down the floor for the bucket on the other end, carrying the offensive load in the quarter as the Hawks ended the first half with an eight point deficit.

  • The Royal Blue and White began their second half with a three pointer from Macy Durkin (Syracuse, N.Y.). Delisle knocked down a three of her own to pull within four points.

  • Turnover trouble from Hartwick allowed Russell Sage to build on their cushion and begin to pull away from the Hawks.

  • 'Wick gave it their all in the final quarter of play, Bailey McCoy (Otego, N.Y.) led the charge on offense but the clock would expire before they could mount a comeback.
