WEBSTER, N.Y. - The Hartwick Women's Swim and Dive Team used their two day surge to secure second place in the 2024-25 Empire 8 Swim and Dive Championships, posting a stellar effort.

The Hawks kicked off the final day of the championship with the 1650 freestyle as Cate Russo (San Pedro, Cal.) took the bronze medal with a time of eighteen minutes and five seconds.

Danielle DeCarlo (Whitesboro, N.Y.) placed fourth in the 200 yard backstroke, clocking in at two minutes and eight seconds, being edged out by the bronze finisher by one second.

Courtney Pierce (Fulton, N.Y.) continues to dominate the 200 yard breaststroke event, collecting her third consecutive gold medal in the Empire 8 Championships, posting a finishing mark of two minutes and twenty seconds.

Hartwick kept piling up the points as Jillan Ferrie (Middle Grove, N.Y.) picked up the bronze medal in the 200 breaststroke, finishing in two minutes and twenty eight seconds.

Annabelle Lindsay (Hudson Falls, N.Y.) represented the Hawks in the three meter diving event, scoring 342.75 to place sixth.

The Women wrapped up their final event of the 2024-25 season with the 400 yard freestyle relay, Bree Dy (Matawan, NJ), Anna Bischoff (Oneonta, N.Y.), Russo, and Pierce combining for a three minute and thirty nine second finish, taking fourth.

Hartwick placed second with 672 total points as new Empire 8 foes rounded out the top three with Brockport placing third and Geneseo taking first place in their first Empire 8 Championship.
