The Hawks wasted no time seizing momentum on their home turf, leaping out to an early lead they never surrendered with a goal from a driving Tyler Nocito (Mahopac, N.Y.).

Colin August (Garrison, N.Y.) connected on his first goal of the afternoon, being set up with a perfect pass from Tararihwakohe Lazore (Hogansburg, NY) as Lazore picked up the assist.

Garrett Frost (Wading River, N.Y.) connected on the third goal in three minutes, scoring his first goal at the 12:31 mark.

The Hawks displayed wonderful ball movement as the next three goals were assisted with August, Frost, and Luke Ward (Attleboro, Mass.) upped the lead to six.Â

Nocito was credited with assists on the August and Frost goals and Spencer Hogaboom (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) assisted Ward on his goal.

The onslaught continued as Liam McManus (Skillman, N.J.) made it seven in a row for the Hawks with eight minutes to go.

The Lazore and August connection continues to strengthen each game as Lazore assisted Colin August on two acrobatic behind-the-back goals to close out the first quarter up by nine goals.

With the second quarter underway, McManus struck for his second goal of the afternoon as Hogaboom picked up his second assist.

Frost took advantage of the man-up situation caused by a Poly offsides penalty, receiving the dish from August and fired it past the keeper.

Harrison Kirby (Lynbrook, N.Y.) connected on his first goal of the season, receiving the setup from Mason Adams (Delmar, NY).

Poly put an end to the Hartwick barrage, firing in their first goal of the game to close out the first half.

First year Nicholas Fernandez (Weymouth, MA) fired in an acrobating goal through contact for his first collegiate score, with a flurry of passes going around before Ben Morenus (Homer, N.Y.) found Fernandez.

Poly began to slowly creep their way back into the contest, connecting on back-to-back goals but still trailing by ten.

Kirby stopped the brief scoring run from Poly, finding his second goal after the assist from McManus.

The Wildcats tacked on three goals in the final five minutes, pushing the score to 14-6 after the Hawks were outscored 2-5 by Poly.

Poly took their momentum into the fourth, scoring the opening goal with 9:59 left on the scoreboard.

Jacob Joly (Saunderstown, RI) used his speed to blaze past the Wildcat defense and fired a missile past Poly's keeper, connecting on his first collegiate goal.

The Wildcats fired in their final goal with five minutes left before Joly connected on the final goal of the contest, being assisted by Steve Grossman (Magnolia, Del.).

Liam Downey (Blue Point, N.Y.) enjoyed a stellar day at the X, going 16-22 on face offs and scooping up a career-high 17 ground balls. Downey made his presence felt all over the turf, causing four turnovers as well.
