Hawks Come Up Short Against No.25 Cardinals to Close Regular Season

PITTSFORD, N.Y. - The Hartwick Men's Lacrosse team traveled to St. John Fisher University, falling to the No.25 ranked Cardinals on Saturday afternoon to conclude their regular season.

  • Records: Hartwick (8-6, 6-3 Empire 8) St. John Fisher (13-4, 9-0 Empire 8)

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • The Hawks were faced with early adversity, struggling to hold off the potent attack from the nationally ranked Cardinals, falling behind 14-0 after the first quarter. St. John Fisher built their momentum off their face-off success, catching Hartwick on their back foot.

  • Ty Crowley (Wallkill, N.Y.) connected on the first goal for the Hawks but the team still trailed by double digits as the team worked hard to claw their way back into the contest.

  • Fisher struck for four in the second quarter, building on their double digit lead headed into the third quarter.

  • Colin August (Garrison, N.Y.) continues to lead the offensive charge for the Hawks, scoring a goal in the third and fourth quarter to cap off the offensive production for the Hawks.

  • Harry Rubin (Portland, Me.) and Tararihwakohe Lazore (Hogansburg, N.Y.) were credited with assists on the August scores.

  • The Hawks battled to the end but the Cardinal attack proved too much to handle for the Royal Blue and White, falling in their regular season finale.

  • Kaiden Johnson (Wakefield, Mass.) collected 16 saves in between the pipes on the day.

 

UP NEXT FOR THE HAWKS

The Hawks will return home for the first round of the 2025 Empire 8 Men's Lacrosse Championship Tournament, taking on the No.5 seed SUNY Brockport Golden Eagles on Tuesday, April 29th at 4PM at Wright Stadium.
