WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The Hawks and Golden Flyers prepared for battle under heavy rain, Nazareth won the opening faceoff and put Kaiden Johnson (Wakefield, Mass.) to the test right away, putting up a shot but were denied by Johnson.

Nazareth continued to pile up shots before finally connecting for their first score with nine minutes left. The Golden Flyers found another goal with seven and half minutes remaining to take a two goal lead.

Hartwick got on the board with a turnaround strike from Colin August (Garrison, N.Y.), taking the dish from Spencer Hogaboom (Poughkeepsie, N.Y) and immediately turned around and fired past the keeper, clipping the right post for the score.

Hogaboom knotted the contest up at two with his first goal of the afternoon as Taharihwakohe Lazore (Hogansburg, N.Y.) delivered a perfect strike for the assist.

Nazareth responded quickly with their third goal of the quarter, striking just 38 seconds after the Hogaboom score.

Colby Simonetti (Pittsford, N.Y.) connected on the equalizer with contact, finding the back of the net for the score with two minutes remaining in the first to wrap up a tight first quarter.

The Golden Flyers opened the second quarter with four goals as they looked to take control of the contest, creating some breathing room with seven minutes remaining.

Tyler Nocito (Mahopac, N.Y.) ended the skid for the Hawks, connecting on his first goal as the Hawks began to chip away at the deficit.

Simonetti worked his way through the Naz defense for his second score with five minutes remaining but Nazareth scored twice in the closing minutes, heading into the half with a four goal lead.

The Hawks struggled to contain the Golden Flyer attack as their offense erupted in the third quarter, collecting seven goals to create a sizable lead.

Hartwick's lone score of the quarter came from Garrett Frost (Wading River, N.Y.) taking advantage of a Nazareth penalty. Matthew LoCasto (Floral Park, N.Y.) initiated wonderful ball movement from the team before finding Frost who put it away.

The Nazareth attack stayed hot, scoring seven goals in the fourth as well to put the contest out of reach for the Hawks.

Nocito connected with Frost on back to back goals as the Hawks continued to fight until the final whistle.

Tyler Nocito capped off his solid outing with the Hawks' final goal with three minutes left, LoCasto picked up his second assist.
