ONEONTA, N.Y. - In mid-May, the Hartwick College Athletic Department revived its long-standing Benefit Auction, hosting a fun-filled evening of camaraderie, joy and lasting memories.

After a six-year absence, the auction returned to the Hill on May 17, attracting over 140 attendees. With a wide variety of items, from an autographed helmet by Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes to golfing at the Muttontown Club on Long Island and vacation homes in places from Maine to South Carolina, there were plenty of attention-grabbing items for everyone to choose from.

"This was an event that needed to be brought back and even better that it was such a success," remarked Head Men's Soccer Coach John Scott. "It was great to see the auction being supported by the local community in what was a tremendous turnout. Many thanks to all who made the effort to support the comeback of the benefit auction and I can't wait for next year already!"

The event pulled in over $42,000, with the live auction being the star of the night, racking up over $30,000. Raffle tickets and the bid/buy items combined for over $8,000, highlighting the incredible efforts and contributions from Hartwick family, friends, staff and alumni.

"I am overjoyed at the response to this event from our Hartwick Board of Trustees, alumni and campus and Oneonta communities," said Paul Vecchio, executive director of athletics. "A heartfelt thanks to Lisa Corbett and the advancement team for their tremendous support and a special shout out to organizers John Scott, Tony and Vinnie Avanzato, and Duncan MacDonald, who had a vision for bringing back this jewel of an event and put in countless hours and incredible passion to make it a success."
