ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Hartwick College Hawks placed 100 student-athletes on the Empire 8 2025 Spring President's List for their academic achievements, improving on their total from last spring by four. The President's List award is recognized as one of the conference's most prestigious honors.
To qualify for this honor, student-athletes must earn a 3.75 grade point average or higher during the semester, display positive conduct on and off campus, be enrolled full time, while also participating in an NCAA-sponsored sport. For Hartwick, all 17 teams were represented with a member on the President's List, with football and men's lacrosse leading the men's teams with 14 honorees each, while women's lacrosse led the women's teams with 10 honorees.
11 Hartwick teams were also selected to receive Empire 8 All-Academic Team honors. This merit is awarded to individual programs that post a team GPA of 3.2 or higher for the semester. Leading the Hawks this spring was the women's cross country team with an incredible 3.74 team GPA.
Overall, the Empire 8's 12 full-time members sponsored 5,316 student-athletes who combined for a conference-wide spring grade point average of 3.32, an improvement from last spring. 1,660 of these student-athletes were named to the Spring 2025 President's List. Additionally, a league record 190 teams were acknowledged as Empire 8 Conference All-Academic Teams for registering a team grade point average of 3.2 or higher for the spring semester.
