ONEONTA, N.Y. — Junior guard Macy Durkin (Syracuse, N.Y.) has been selected to the 2025–26 Empire 8 All-Conference Third Team, the conference announced Thursday morning. Durkin earned Third Team honors for the second time in her career.
The Syracuse native put together a stellar junior campaign, posting career highs in multiple categories. She finished the season averaging a double-double with 11.7 points and 10.4 rebounds per game, both career bests.
Durkin was the heart and soul of the Blue and White, leading the team in points, rebounds, steals, and blocks. She totaled 281 points and 183 rebounds, while making a major impact defensively with 74 steals and 25 blocks.
She further solidified her status as one of the conference's premier players, tying for second in the Empire 8 with 3.1 steals per game, just 0.1 shy of the conference leader. Durkin also ranked sixth in the conference with 1.0 block per game and third in rebounding at 10.4 boards per contest, remarkable marks for a guard and well above the conference average at her position.
The standout junior recorded eight double-doubles during the 2025–26 season and reached double figures in rebounds 12 times. Her versatility was on full display in a matchup at SUNY Morrisville, where she delivered a dominant performance of 17 points, 21 rebounds, and five blocks. Despite standing at 5-foot-8, Durkin plays with the presence and intensity of a much taller veteran.
Durkin recorded 20 or more rebounds twice this season. Her 21-rebound performance ranks as the second-highest single-game total in the conference this year and the highest by any guard.
In addition to Durkin's All-Conference honor, Trinity Thornton (Sherburne, N.Y.) was named to the Empire 8 Tomorrow's Leaders Team. Thornton appeared in all 25 contests, emerging as a leader not only on the court, but also in the classroom and the community.
