ONEONTA, N.Y. - The Hartwick College Hawks placed 104 student-athletes on the 2025 Empire 8 Fall President's List for their academic achievements. The President's List award is recognized as one of the conference's most prestigious honors.

In order to qualify, student-athletes must earn a 3.75 grade point average or higher during the semester, display positive conduct on and off campus, be enrolled full time, while also participating in an NCAA-sponsored sport. For Hartwick, all 19 teams had a member named to the President's List, football led the men's side with 11 honorees and soccer led the women's side with nine honorees.

"I'm extremely proud of the efforts of our student-athletes and am excited to see greater numbers of Hawks excelling in the classroom,"said Paul Vecchio, Executive Director of Athletics. "I'm also extremely grateful for the outstanding support shown by our faculty and our Student Success Center who serve as tremendous advocates for our student-athletes."

11 teams were selected to receive Empire 8 All-Academic Team honors. Individual programs must post a team GPA of 3.2 or higher for the semester. Women's Cross Country led the Hawks with an astounding 3.81 GPA.

Overall, 1,773 student-athletes were honored by the Empire 8 this fall.The Empire 8's 12 full-time members sponsored 5,776 student-athletes who combined for a conference-wide fall grade point average of 3.28. Overall, nearly 31 percent of all Empire 8 student-athletes received this impressive distinction.
