HOW IT HAPPENED
In their lone game of the day, the Hawks re-met the University of New England for a midday matchup, after play was suspended on Monday. The Hawks and Nor'Easters battled it out in three innings for their first day.

A string of defensive errors in the top of the first placed Hartwick on the board early. After putting runners in scoring position, Shannon Mentz (Binghamton, NY) reached on a throwing error, allowing Casey O'Connor (Albany, NY) to come home for the game's first run.

The Hawks held the lead through the first two innings behind steady defense, UNE struggling to generate offensive plays. The game was cut short due to inclement weather, with play resuming two days later.

Both teams picked up where they left off and started off strong in the bottom of the third. The Nor'easters rallied an RBI off of a left side single, tying the score at 1-1. UNE took their first lead in the fourth inning, using a triple and a base hit to go ahead 2-1.

Hartwick responded in the fifth with a strong offensive push. With the bases loaded, Autumn Millington (Westmoreland, NY) drew a walk to tie the game. Alicea Seitzinger (Bridgeton, NJ) followed after being hit by a pitch to bring in another run, giving the Hawks a 3-2 advantage.

The Nor'easters answered immediately in the bottom half of the inning, highlighted by a solo home run and an RBI single to reclaim a 4-3 lead. UNE added insurance in the sixth, taking advantage of a defensive error and aggressive baserunning to extend the lead to 6-3.

Hartwick was unable to mount a comeback in the final innings, as UNE held on for the win.
