HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 1)

Hartwick worked out out of early pressure in the first, stranding a runner after Alfred opened with two hits. In the bottom half, the Hawks capitalized on an error and drew two walks from Casey O'Connor (Albany, NY) and Samantha Moore (Mamaroneck, NY) but left the pair on base.

Alfred used the long ball to take control in the second, plating three runs on two homers. The Saxons added two more home runs in the third, but Mihaly Blake (Troy, NY) responded with a solo home run, accounting for Hartwick's lone run of the game.

The Hawks threatened again in the third as O'Connor singled and Moore and Shannon Mentz (Binghamton, NY) worked walks to load the bases, but Alfred escaped the jam. Alfred added insurance across the last three innings with nine more runs to secure the 12-1 final.

HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 2)

Alfred struck early, scoring twice in the first on a pair of RBI plays to take a quick 2-0 lead. Hartwick went down in order in the bottom half, and the Saxons added two more in the second to extend their lead 4-0.

The game broke open in the third, as Alfred capitalized on two Hartwick errors and strung together four hits in a five-run inning to push the advantage 9-0. In the bottom half, Mihaly Blake worked a walk and advanced to third, but the Hawks were unable to bring her home.

Alfred tacked on two more runs in the fourth, taking advantage of another Hartwick miscue and a wild pitch to stretch the lead 11-0. Hartwick's best chance came in the fourth when O'Connor drew a walk, but a double play ended the threat. Alfred held Hartwick hitless through five innings to secure the run-rule victory.
