Liam McManus (Skillman, N.J.) broke the tie at 5:49 with his first tally, and August capped the quarter with an unassisted strike to give the Hawks a 3-1 lead after one.
The Wildcats found the net in the opening minute of the second, but McManus answered just 13 seconds later, finishing a feed from Mason Adams (Delmar, N.Y.). SUNY Poly kept pace with another goal before Colby Simonetti (Pittsford, N.Y.) sparked a Hartwick surge, scoring back-to-back goals with McManus assisting one. Spencer Hogaboom (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) followed with his first tally to complete a three-goal run.
