HOW IT HAPPENED
Prior to the opening draw, the Hawks recognized their two seniors, Jammie Decker (Penn Yan, N.Y.) and Regan Kelly (Warwick, N.Y.), thanking them for their efforts and contributions to the program.

Decker wasted no time getting things started, burying a feed from Parker Laurin (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) to put the Hawks on the board at 13:18. Hartwick controlled the first quarter, scoring seven goals from five different players to showcase early balance. Shea Holloway (Fort Johnson, NY) added the second goal off a pass from fellow first-year Jackie Owens (Poughquag, NY). Adelyn Esce (Cicero, NY) followed with an unassisted effort before Keuka broke the run with a woman-up goal at 11:14. Laurin answered with her first of the day, and after another Keuka tally, the Hawks closed the quarter with three straight scores. Laurin finished a feed from Esce, while Lily Dempsey (Glenville, N.Y.) and Esce capped the frame with unassisted goals.

Hartwick extended its lead in the second quarter, outscoring the Wolves 8-1. Esce opened the period with a woman-up goal off Laurin's assist, and Laurin followed with a strike of her own, assisted by Owens. Decker added her second goal, again from Laurin, before Dempsey scored just 28 seconds later with Owens collecting another assist. Dempsey then turned provider, finding Laurin on the cut for her fourth goal. Abby Skurka (Cumberland, RI) added an unassisted tally while short-handed, and Decker completed her hat trick to push the Hawks ahead 14-2. Keuka converted a free-position attempt for its lone goal of the quarter, but Dempsey answered late to send Hartwick into halftime with a 15-3 advantage.

Dempsey continued her strong sophomore campaign in the third quarter, scoring off an assist from Lauryn Bigwarfe (Potsdam, N.Y.) with an overhand missile. Esce followed with another unassisted goal before Keuka found its first tally of the period. Hartwick closed the quarter with three more goals, including Laurin's fifth of the day off Bigwarfe's second assist. Ashley Ament (Sayreville, N.J.) added a strong individual effort, and Skurka finished a pass from Holloway to end the third.

Each team scored once in the final 15 minutes. Keuka struck first, but Ava Reynolds (South Glens Falls, N.Y.) answered with her first collegiate goal, assisted by Dempsey, to cap the scoring.

It was a complete team performance as Hartwick totaled 21 goals on 12 assists. Four Hawks recorded hat tricks, led by Laurin with five goals, while Dempsey and Esce added four each and Decker finished with three. Skurka scored twice, and Holloway, Ament, and Reynolds each added one. Laurin also dished out three assists for a career-high eight points, while Owens added three helpers. Dempsey and Bigwarfe recorded two assists apiece, and Holloway and Esce each contributed one.

The Hartwick goalkeeping unit was solid throughout, led by Brooke Lynett (Acton, Mass.), who made three saves. Kamryn Hebert (Upper Marlboro, Md.) finished the game and recorded one save.
