PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The Hartwick Women's Lacrosse team's winning streak came to a halt on Saturday afternoon, as the Hawks dropped their regular season finale to regular season champion St. John Fisher at Growney Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hawks faced a tall task against the defending Empire 8 Champion Cardinals, who entered the 2026 season ranked 11th in the nation in the IWLCA preseason poll.
St. John Fisher broke the stalemate just 1:05 into the contest and did not look back, scoring four unanswered goals to open the game. Abby Skurka (Cumberland, RI) found the back of the net off a pass from Lily Dempsey (Glenville, N.Y.) to get Hartwick on the board. The hosts maintained control from there, as the Hawks struggled to slow the potent Cardinal attack. St. John Fisher continued to pull away, building a double-digit advantage by halftime. Hartwick was unable to close the gap in the second half, as the Cardinals secured the victory to conclude the regular season.
UP NEXT FOR THE HAWKS
The Hawks will head back to Utica for the quarterfinal round of the Empire 8 Women's Lacrosse Championship Tournament, squaring off against the No. 4 seed Pioneers on Tuesday, April 28 at 4 p.m.
