ONEONTA, N.Y. - Adelyn Esce (Cicero, NY) has been named the Empire 8 Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Year, as voted on by the conference's head coaches and announced by the league office on May 5.

The first-year standout was a dominant force for the Blue and White, appearing in all 17 games with 16 starts. Esce totaled 49 points, the second-highest mark on the team, scoring 22 goals while leading the Hawks with 27 assists. She made an immediate impact in her collegiate debut at Manhattanville, recording her first two career points and showcasing her playmaking ability.

Esce netted her first collegiate goal in just her second game, finding the back of the cage against Kean University at Wright Stadium. From there, the dynamic midfielder continued to elevate her play, emerging as a key contributor throughout the season.

She opened Empire 8 play with two assists against Brockport before delivering a breakout week with 13 total points. Esce recorded nine points (5 goals, 4 assists) against Elmira and followed with four assists in a historic win over Nazareth, earning Empire 8 Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Her production remained steady during the heart of the season, as she compiled 23 points (11 goals, 12 assists) over a four-game stretch, helping lead Hartwick back to the Empire 8 Tournament.

Esce also rose to the occasion in postseason play, scoring two goals in her playoff debut against fourth-seeded Utica. In addition to Rookie of the Year honors, she was named to the Empire 8 Second Team All-Conference.
