ONEONTA, N.Y. - The Hartwick Hawks earned ten College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District selections, with Field Hockey and Men's and Women's Lacrosse combining to represent the Blue and White on the prestigious list, announced Tuesday afternoon.
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher and be at least a sophomore academically and athletically. The CSC At-Large program recognizes student-athletes competing in sports that do not have their own dedicated Academic All-District category, including field hockey and men's and women's lacrosse.
On the men's side, the lacrosse program landed four selections, headlined by senior standout Colin August. August was joined by fellow senior Ty Crowley, junior Steve Grossman, and sophomore Eddie Hughes. August earned his second career CSC Academic All-District honor, while Crowley, Grossman, and Hughes each collected the recognition for the first time.
The quartet played a key role in helping Hartwick secure another Empire 8 Tournament appearance and host a postseason game for the second straight season. August capped off a stellar senior campaign by earning Empire 8 Second Team All-Conference honors for the third consecutive year and representing the Hawks in the USILA Division III North-South All-Star Game. As a repeat Academic All-District selection, August will advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, with honorees set to be announced in July.
On the women's side, Field Hockey and Women's Lacrosse each produced three Academic All-District selections.
Following another successful season under head coach Erin Autera, field hockey standouts Hope Angioletti, Ava Reynolds, and Natalie O'Malley earned CSC Academic All-District recognition. The trio continues to add to an impressive list of academic accolades after also earning recognition as members of the NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad. Angioletti collected her second CSC Academic All-District honor, while O'Malley earned her first selection and was also recognized as an NFHCA Scholar of Distinction for maintaining a GPA of 3.90 or higher. Reynolds earned the distinction in her first season of eligibility.
Angioletti enjoyed a standout junior campaign, finishing 10th nationally in NCAA Division III in assists per game while earning Empire 8 First Team All-Conference and NFHCA First Team All-Region honors. Reynolds turned in a breakout sophomore season, earning Empire 8 Goalkeeper of the Year honors along with NFHCA Second Team All-Region recognition. Both Angioletti and Reynolds will advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot and will be considered for national honors later this summer.
Women's Lacrosse rounded out Hartwick's selections with three honorees, led by senior captain Jammie Decker, who earned her second consecutive Academic All-District selection. Decker was joined by junior midfielder Ashley Ament and sophomore attacker Lily Dempsey, both first-time recipients of the award.
The trio helped guide the Hawks to another Empire 8 Tournament appearance and played a major role in one of the program's signature moments of the season, a historic victory over Nazareth, marking the first win against the Golden Flyers in program history.
