ONEONTA, NY – Hartwick Tennis picked up two wins against St. John Fisher at Neahwa Park on Saturday afternoon, ultimately falling short 5-2 to the Cardinals.
The Hawks opened the match strong in doubles, earning a point at first doubles as
Samantha Lantzy (Valatie, N.Y.) and
Gianna Leggieri (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) defeated the opposing Cardinals 6-1.
Hartwick also earned a win at third singles, where
Sasha Garcia (Pueblo, Col.) came out with a 6-4, 6-3 win. The Hawks' second singles victory came at first singles, with
Samantha Lantzy earning a 6-1, 6-3 win. Lantzy finished the day off with two victories one single and one with Leggieri in doubles.
St. John Fisher claimed the remaining four singles matches, and two doubles contests to secure the 5-2 final.
