Carissa Warren was elevated to the position of Assistant Field Hockey Coach to Associate Head Field Hockey Coach before the beginning of the 2022 season.
Warren has been on staff for four seasons helping guide the Hawks to four Empire 8 Tournament appearances, including two Championships in 2019 and 2022. Â Over those four seasons, the program has tallied a 36-21 record and produced several all-conference performers, five NFHCA All-Region performers and one NFHCA All-American.
The program claimed the Empire 8 Championship in 2022. Warren was instrumental in coaching a group that received eight All-Conference nods. The Hawks also nearly swept the special recognition awards, as Sydney Gagnon was named Player of the Year, Libby Fortin was named Defensive Player of the Year, Madison Maddocks was named Goalkeeper of the year, and Warren and Head Coach Erin Autera were named the Coaching Staff of the Year for the second consecutive season. Gagnon, Fortin, and Julie Ruzzi also made appearances in the NCAA All-Region squads. In addition, Gagnon was named an NCAA All-American.
The fall of 2021 saw the Hawks qualify for the Empire 8 tournament again, falling in the semifinal game after posting an 11-5 overall record and a 7-1 mark in conference play. Warren and Autera were named Coaching Staff of the Year while seven Hawks received Empire 8 honors. Gagnon and Ruzzi picked up NCAA All-Region honors under Autera and Warren's leadership.
In the spring of 2021, Warren helped guide the Hawks to their second consecutive trip to the Empire 8 Championship game. She coached six players to all-conference recognition, including Goalkeeper of the Year Allyson Osborne, Rookie of the Year Emily Strutt, and First Team picks Tegan Robinson and Sydney Gagnon.
In her first season with the program, Warren helped guide the Hawks to a 13-7 record and their first Empire 8 Conference championship since 2005. Warren coached three Hawks that earned all-region honors in Brooke Singer, Sydney Gagnon, and Allyson Osborne. Singer was also the Empire 8 Tournament Most Outstanding Player and Gagnon earned Empire 8 Rookie of the Year honors.
Warren arrived at 'Wick after a very successful playing career at SUNY Oneonta. A three-time all-region and four-time All-SUNYAC pick, Warren helped the Red Dragons to 33 victories and four SUNYAC playoff appearances in her four seasons.
Warren started 72 games over her the course of her career. She scored seven goals, assisted on eight others, and added three defensive saves.
Warren was a National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-Region Second Team pick and All-SUNYAC First Team selection in her freshman, sophomore and senior seasons. She graduated from SUNY Oneonta in May 2019 with degrees in Sports Management and Psychology.
