Gerard Drost enters his second season as an assistant coach at Hartwick in the fall of 2019. In his first season, he helped the Hawks qualify for the Empire 8 playoffs.

Drost arrived at Hartwick with over 15 years of experience with Dutch field hockey teams at various levels. He was an active player for Rotterdam field hockey club Leonidas in The Netherlands from 2008-2017. While with the club, he was consistently in the top three in scoring as a midfielder and forward. He also played for Woerden field hockey club between 1997 and 2001.

A coach of Leonidas women’s field hockey team in the 4th Division from 2011-2014, Drost assisted with the organization of multiple tournaments while with the club. He also trained field hockey players ages 8-11 during his time at Woerden.

Drost earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Erasmus University in Rotterdam (Netherlands) in 2005. He earned a Master of Science in Accounting & Control in 2008. Drost is the founder and owner of InCreativeCompany, which coaches and trains in business, entrepreneurship and creativity for a range of startups and entrepreneurs.
