Local coaching legend Bob Zeh begins his sixth season as an assistant with the Hartwick women’s basketball program. He has nearly a half-century of experience in the game of basketball, having coached at various levels for the last 50 years.
He spent 35 years coaching the Oneonta High School Boys and another 10 with the Yellowjacket Girls. Over those 45 seasons, he compiled an overall record of 527 victories and 277 defeats. In addition, he had many Section IV championship teams and league titles, and he guided two of his girls’ teams to New York State Final Four appearances.
Moving up to the college game, he spent five seasons as an assistant to Nick Lambros with the Hartwick College men’s basketball program. He helped the 1987-1988 team to the NCAA Division III Final Four.
He was inducted in the New York State Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009.
Zeh has helped to guide the ’Wick women’s program to two Empire 8 Championship game appearances, two NCAA Tournament berths, an ECAC title, and 82 victories over the last five seasons.
