Courtney Chase

Courtney Chase begins her second season as assistant women’s basketball coach in fall 2020. She helped lead the Hawks to an overall record of 14-12 in her first season with the Hawks, which included an Empire 8 playoff appearance.

Chase arrived at Hartwick after serving as a volunteer assistant coach at Mount Holyoke College. With the Lyons, Chase had a diverse set of responsibilities. She aided in the program’s recruiting efforts, broke down and analyzed game film and developed scouting reports, helped plan and lead practice, and conducted individual workouts with student-athletes. She also helped manage the team’s social media accounts and produced and distributed a monthly newsletter.

While at Mount Holyoke, Chase worked the fall semester as a graduate assistant at the Mark H. McCormack Department of Sport Management at UMass Amherst. She spent the preceding year as a Research Associate at Julius Influencer Marketing in New York City.

Chase played basketball for four seasons at William Smith College in Geneva, NY, earning Liberty League All-Academic honors in 2015, 2016, and 2017. She graduated from William Smith with a bachelor’s degree in Media & Society in May 2017, and a earned a Master of Science in Sport Management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst’s Isenberg School of Management in February 2020.
