Avery Blackmon

Avery Blackmon begins her third season as an assistant women’s lacrosse coach in fall 2021. She came to Hartwick after completing a very successful lacrosse career at Georgetown College in Georgetown, KY.

With the Tigers, Blackmon elevated the program to previously unseen heights and rewrote the program’s record book. She helped lead the team to three National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Tournaments, including an appearance in the finals in 2016. She was a four-time NAIA First Team All-American, two-time Mid-South Conference Player of the Year, and the NAIA Player of the Year in 2019. 

Blackmon holds the program’s single-game goals (14), assists (8), points (15), and draw controls (21) records, the season goals (111), points (143), and draw controls (193) records, and the all-time goals (302), assists (125), points (427), ground balls (194), and draw controls (584) records. She holds the program’s top two goal-scoring seasons and top four seasons by points, assists, and draw controls.

Blackmon also spent time as a middle and high school lacrosse travel team coach with Fast and Furious Lacrosse in Ball Ground, GA. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Studio Art from Georgetown in May 2019.
