Kells Casey begins her first season as the assistant women’s lacrosse coach at Hartwick in the Fall of 2018. Casey spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach at New England College in Henniker, NH.
During her tenure with the Pilgrims, Casey helped the program to 20 wins and two appearances in the North Atlantic Conference Tournament, including a spot in the championship game in 2017.
While at NEC, Casey also served as an administrative assistant in the college’s tutoring center and as the interim head field hockey coach.
Casey played collegiately in both lacrosse and field hockey at Utica College from 2012-16. In field hockey, she set program records for goalkeeper wins (45), led the Empire 8 Conference in goals against average (1.44), save percentage (.831), and shutouts in 2013. She would help the Pioneers to three Empire 8 titles and three NCAA Tournament appearances. Casey was a two-time NFHCA North Atlantic All-Region and Empire 8 First Team selection. She would make 142 career saves as a lacrosse goalie for the Pioneers.
Casey earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Utica in May 2016. She attained a Master of Business Administration from New England College in May 2018.
