On Saturday against Oneonta State, Grunewald was the winner of the 1000 Free (10:01.91), 500 Free (4:51.31) and finished third in the 400 IM with a time of 4:25.05. The following day against RPI, he won the 1650 Free (16:40.01), finished a very close second to teammate Kenny Kleso in the 500 Free by .83 seconds (4:53.91), and had a 50 Free relay split of 23.20 in the 200 Free Relay.
