Marshall earned Allegheny Empire Championship Male Rookie of the Meet honors in Rochester this past weekend. He won a pair of individual titles and turned in a third-place effort to go along with four top-3 finishes in relay events. Marshall started strong as he just edged out Naz’s Tom Griffin by 0.04 in the finals for the championship and Empire 8 First Team honors in the 50 free on Wednesday. His time of 20.84 tied for third all-time in program history. He would help the Hawks to two straight third place finishes in the 200 medley (1:35.88) and 200 free relay (1:26.29), respectively, before combining with his teammates for second place overall in the 400 medley relay (3:26.37) on Thursday. After Marshall placed third in the 100 fly (52.12), he won his second conference title of the weekend, this time in the 100 free, as he edged out Griffin by 0.02 for a finish of 46.33. He closed out his championships helping ’Wick to third overall and Empire 8 Second Team honors in the 400 free relay (3:10.74).
