ONEONTA, NY - Hartwick's volleyball team swept Hamilton College in a "Dig Pink" match in which the Hawks helped raise awareness for breast cancer researchon Tuesday night at Lambros Arena . Final scores were 25-22, 25-19, 25-13. The win is the Hawks' second in a row and ups their record to 9-19 on the season. The Continentals fall to 5-27 with the loss.
Sophomore Lauren Mausert (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna) and senior Darcy Dolge (La Grande, OR/La Grande) tied for a team-high with six kills for the Hawks. Dolge added 10 assists, five digs, and three aces.
Sophomore Courtney Desmond (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Hendrick Hudson) contributed three aces, a team-high four blocks and four kills, and freshman Shannon McGee (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas) earned nine assistsnine assists. Freshmen Tori Beck (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown) and Brianna Eckert (Rochester, NY/Greece Arcadia) also combined for 11 digs.
Hartwick will wrap up the regular season at home on Saturday as the team hosts a tri-match with Cobleskill and Elmira. The two visiting teams square off at 11 a.m. followed by Hartwick against Elmira at 1 p.m. 'Wick then closes out the season at 3 p.m. against the Fighting Tigers.
