SCHENECTADY, NY- The women's volleyball team rallied in the final set and defeated Lasell College 3-2 (15-25, 25-22, 25-20, 19-25, 15-13) on Friday night at the Union Tournament held at the Viniar Athletic Center.
Lauren Mausert (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna) had a double-double for the Hawks with 17 kills and 22 digs. Shannon McGee (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas) had a game high 21 assists and Britney Linter (Ravena, NY/Ravena-Coeymans Selkirk) was just behind her with 20 assists. Dana Martin (Chester, NY/Burke Catholic) contributed 10 kills. Brianna Eckert (Rochester, NY/Greece Arcadia) had 15 digs while Christina Vitale (Port Jefferson Station, NY/St. John the Baptist) chipped in 10 digs.
In their first match of the day, the Hawks fell to Skidmore 3-0 (24-26, 17-25, 13-25). Mausert and Eckert paced the team with 11 digs each. Courtney Desmond (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Hendrick Hudson) led in kills with 10. McGee had 20 assists and Linter contributed 10 assists.
Hartwick returns to the court at 10 a.m. when they go against host Union.
