Box Score ROCHESTER, NY- For the second straight game, the Hartwick women's soccer team forced double overtime but this time could not come up with a victory as the Hawks played to a 0-0 tie with host St. John Fisher on Saturday afternoon at Growney Stadium. Hartwick's record is now 3-3-1 and 0-1-1 in the Empire 8 while the Cardinals are 3-2-2 overall and 0-0-2 in the Empire 8.

Both teams played evenly throughout the game, with the Cardinals leading Hartwick in shots 18-15, but outshooting the Hawks 9-0 in overtime. Heather Konieczny of St. John Fisher led all players with six shots attempted while Kylie Thayer (Ithaca, NY/Ithaca) had four shots to lead the Hawks. Mackenzie Shipley (Sedro Woolley, WA/Sedro Woolley) had three shots on goal.

Taylor Reynolds made a crucial team save for the Cardinals in the second half after Cardinal goalkeeper Jessica Plukas made a stop and was forced out of position. Jamie Alloco had the best opportunity for Fisher, sending a shot to the right corner that Hawk goalkeeper Hope Brown (Sherburne, NY/Sherburne-Earlville) had to dive to save. Chelsea Oberkrieser slid at the rebound, sending a shot just wide.

Brown started in goal for the Hawks and stopped four shots. Noel Peck started for St. John Fisher and had one save. Plukas came on in relief in the second half and had three saves.

“It was an even game but I thought we had better chances,” said head coach Matt Verni. “I'm happy with a tie on the road and our team is a confident group.”

Hartwick will continue road play with a tough Empire 8 game with nationally 8th ranked Ithaca on Wednesday. Game time will be at 4 p.m.
