The Hawks, who tied for third at the six-team event, began the day with a 3-0 (24-26, 18-25, 12-25) loss to second-place Lebanon Valley College but responded in their second match for a 3-1 (25-19, 23-25, 25-13, 25-17) triumph over Utica. The visitors controlled the third set, building a seven-point lead early, 10-3. They never led by less than six the rest of the way in a 25-12 win to secure the match.

The Hawks returned to the court against Empire 8 rival Utica with the two teams trading sets in the opening two frames. The Hawks took the first, 25-19, with the Pioneers returning the favor in the second, 25-23. Hartwick dominated the third set, 25-13, and earned its ninth win, taking the fourth set, 25-17.
