Sophomore Lisa Littleton scored her fifteenth goal of the season and added three ground balls and three caused turnovers on Saturday against Stevens.

ONEONTA, NY – Visiting Stevens Institute of Technology scored the game's first nine goals in a 17-3 victory over Hartwick's women's lacrosse team on Saturday at Wright Stadium. Hartwick received goals from junior Meg Luce (Saratoga Springs, NY/Saratoga Springs) and sophomores Caroline Stanford (Skaneateles, NY/Skaneateles) and Lisa Littleton (Yorktown, NY/Yorktown HS) on the afternoon.
           
Stanford tied for a game-high with three caused turnovers in the contest. She also corralled a team-best five ground balls to go along with her third tally of the season. Sophomore Emily Jweid (Marcy, NY/Whitesboro) tied for a game-high with four draws for the Hawks.
           
Caitlyn Hughes and Kara Rafferty would account for 10 goals for Stevens. The duo would combine for seven of the Ducks' first eight goals.
           
Hartwick would get on the scoreboard with 5:41 left in the first half as Stanford beat Stevens' keeper Meg Collins on the free-position. One minute, eleven seconds before halftime, Luce added another free-position goal, which was her sixteenth of the season, and 'Wick trailed 11-2 at the break.
           
The Hawks got their third goal of the game with just over 15 minutes remaining. Littleton shot high to beat Duck reserve keeper Sarah Prall for her fifteenth goal of the campaign.
           
The Ducks, who improve to 7-6 overall and 3-1 in Empire 8 play, outshot the Hawks 40-13 and had more draws, 15-7. Stevens held a slim edge in ground balls, 23-22, and Hartwick had more caused turnovers, 13-7.
           
Hughes scored six times to pace the Ducks with Rafferty adding four. Rafferty also registered the game-high in ground balls with six and she tied for the game-high in draws (4) with teammate Erika Wilcox and 'Wick's Jweid.
           
Littleton would contribute three ground balls and three caused turnovers for Hartwick. Jweid caused a pair of Duck miscues. Hartwick goalkeeper Steph Luce (Saratoga Springs, NY/Saratoga Springs), who stopped nine shots in the game, also added three ground balls.
           
Hartwick is back in action tomorrow afternoon in a non-conference match against Brockport. The Hawks and Golden Eagles start at 1 p.m.
