Hannah Armstrong (Lansing, NY/Lansing) combined for 27 kills and sophomore
Quincy Kinzel (Scotia, NY/Guilderland) registered a career-high 46 assists as Hartwick's volleyball team got into the win column with a 3-1 (25-15, 23-25, 25-16, 25-21) over SUNY Cobleskill on Wednesday evening.
The Hawks won the first set with relative ease by a margin of 25-15 only to have the host Fighting Tigers respond in the second set, 25-23, to even the match at 1-1.
'Wick rolled in the third set, 25-16, and closed the match out in the fourth by a count of 25-21.
Baril, Armstrong, and Kinzel each accumulated double-doubles for the Hawks. Baril had a team-high 14 kills and 16 digs. Armstrong added 11 kills and a team-high 20 digs. Kinzel contributed 11 digs to go along with her 46 assists. She also had six kills.
Junior
Mary Beth DeCuyke (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown) recorded eight kills and six digs for the Hawks. Freshman
Rosa Maun (Redstone, CO/Roaring Fork) notched seven kills.
Senior
Christine Confer (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) and freshman
Nicole Wyse (Manchester, CT/South Windsor) added five and four kills, respectively.
Freshman
Ashley Werner (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties) secured 18 digs. Sophomore
Meagan Potter (Saratoga Springs, NY/Saratoga Springs) picked up eight.
Hartwick (8-17) will wrap up Empire 8 Conference play this weekend at Alfred. The Hawks play Houghton and then the host Saxons on Saturday at the McLane Center.
