CANTON, NY – Hartwick (6-12) was looking to get its second straight win at the Canton Classic today after registering a 3-1 victory over host St. Lawrence last night. The SUNY Canton (13-4) Kangaroos had other ideas as they earned a three-set victory over the Hawks to close out the tournament. Scores for the match were 25-14, 25-14, 25-15.
           
Senior Dana Martin (Chester, NY/Burke Catholic) had a team-high eight kills and she added 10 digs. For her efforts over the weekend, she was named to the All-Tournament Team.
           
Sophomore Alyssa Zeitler (Chardon, OH/Berkshire) recorded a team-best 15 digs in the match for 'Wick. Classmate Quincy Kinzel (Scotia, NY/Guilderland) added 15 assists and seven digs.
           
The Roos had three players with at least eight kills. Jessica Reynolds recorded a match-high 10 with Morgan Bills contributing nine and Kelsy Cornish adding eight.
           
Mackenzie Mynter accumulated 30 assists for Canton. Robyn Carroll notched 18 digs.
           
The Hartwick Hawks are idle until next Saturday when they return to Empire 8 Conference play. 'Wick plays Nazareth and Elmira at EC's Speidel Gymnasium.
