ROCHESTER, NY – Hartwick led in the first half but the host Golden Flyers tied it later in the period and scored the game-winner with less than 15 minutes left in a 3-2 win Saturday in Rochester. The Hawks slip to 4-9 overall and 1-6 in Empire 8 play. The Flyers improve to 8-9 and 4-4.
           
Catherine Willard gave Nazareth a quick start as she tallied 3:46 into the game. Cathy Stahl and Kailee Coleman earned assists on the play as Willard scored her 13^th goal of the season.
           
Hartwick answered just under 11 minutes later. The Hawks' top goal scorer this season, Sarah Ryan (Saratoga Springs, NY/Saratoga Springs), found the net for the eighth time to even the match at the 14:29 mark.
           
Five minutes, seven seconds later, the Hawks were in front as Claudia Stone (Akron, NY/Akron) scored her third goal of the year for a 2-1 'Wick advantage.
           
The lead would last for 12:25 until Willard struck again for the Golden Flyers and the game reached halftime tied 2-2.
           
The score remained deadlocked for the opening 20:32 of the second half until Kristina Back put Naz in front to stay with 14:28 remaining in the game. The Hawks had one more shot the rest of the way by Catie Kondi (Canaan, NH/Mascoma Valley Regional), but it was blocked by a Naz defender with 6:23 left.
           
The Golden Flyers led the Hawks in shots by a 14-8 margin. They also had more penalty corners in the contest, 10-5.
           
Shannon Carter (Falls Church, VA/J.E.B. Stuart) made five saves for Hartwick on the day. Lauren Devine stopped three 'Wick shots.  
           
Hartwick plays in a non-conference game at Wells College tomorrow beginning at 1 p.m. The Hawks wrap up the regular season on Saturday, October 31 at home against Utica.
