ONEONTA, NY – Hartwick scored a trio of goals inside of 25 minutes on Saturday in a key 3-1 victory over St. John Fisher in Empire 8 women's soccer on Saturday at Elmore Field. The victory propels the Hawks to an overall record of 8-1 and 2-0 mark in conference play. The Cardinals slip to 4-6-1 overall and 1-2 in the league.
Casey Boucher (Northbridge, MA/Northbridge) netted Hartwick's first two goals before the 11 and a half minute mark. She scored 6:19 into the match putting the ball into the top shelf off a set piece for a 1-0 'Wick lead. Five minutes, five seconds later, her header following a corner from teammate
Sierra Bentley (Worcester, NY/Schenevus) produced the Hawks' second goal.
In the 25
th minute, Bentley got into the scoring column as she put her corner kick directly in the Fisher goal and the Hawks were up 3-0.
'Wick held a 5-1 edge in shots in the first half. The Cardinals responded early in the second as Carly Finn scored just 1:51 after halftime. Fisher would out-shoot Hartwick by a 7-4 margin in the second 45 minutes but the Hawks held them off for the victory.

Megan McGillycuddy (Glenville, NY/Scotia-Glenville) stopped three Cardinal shots for Hartwick. Sarah O'Brien also made three saves in the Fisher goal.
The Hawks have another big one on the horizon as they host Ithaca College on Tuesday night in a makeup game from Wednesday, September 30. Kickoff between the Hawks and Bombers is 5 p.m. on Elmore.
