ONEONTA, NY – In the last day of Oneonta's Dig Pink Invitational, the Hartwick volleyball team split its final matches of the season falling in four sets to the Baruch College Bearcats and picking up a four-set victory over the Plattsburgh State Cardinals. Hartwick concludes its season at 9-18 overall. Baruch and Plattsburgh move to 12-22 and 13-17, respectively.
The Hawks fell to Baruch by the scores of 16-25, 25-18, 24-26, 26-28 and topped the Cardinals by the scores of 17-25, 25-23, 26-24, 25-20.
Outside hitter, senior
Hannah Armstrong (Lansing, NY/Lansing) was named to the All-Tournament team as the only 'Wick representative. The Lansing, NY native claimed a match-high 17 kills against the Bearcats and a team-high 11 kills against the Cardinals.
Libero
Alyssa Zeitler (Chardon, OH/Berkshire) spearheaded the Hawks' defense in both games notching match-best finishes in digs. In the first game she tallied a season-high 33 digs and followed that up with 17 against Plattsburgh.
Outside hitter
Ashley Smatko (Fort Edward, NY/South Glens Falls) had 11 kills versus the Bearcats while
Rosa Maun (Redstone, CO/Roaring Fork) recorded 10 against the Cardinals.
Setter
Jamie Reidy (Elmira, NY/Horseheads) led the Hawks in assists with 37 against Baruch with
Erin Russell (Wantagh, NY/Seaford) gathering 36 versus the Cardinals.
Armstrong finishes her final season for 'Wick as the team's kills leader with 320 (3.27 k/s) on .135 hitting and 236 digs (2.41 d/s) this season.
Zeitler finishes with 332 digs (3.35 d/s) to lead in that category. Reidy had the most assists of any Hawk this season dishing out 572 (6.57 a/s).
Maun led the Hawks in blocks this season with 11 block solos and 46 block assists (0.55 b/s).
