ONEONTA, NY – On the front end of a back-to-back on Saturday afternoon, both the Hartwick men's and women's swimming and diving teams took care of city rival Oneonta at Moyer Pool. Led by four first-place finishes from junior
Maddy Hayes (Eagan, MN/Eagan), the 'Wick women beat out the Red Dragons, 162-125. Four men garnered three top finishes awarding the team the 191-103 victory over the visitors.

Joe Mulvehill (Penfield, NY/Penfield), senior
Zane Grunewald (New Windsor, NY/Newburgh Free Academy), sophomore
Aron Zhang (Douglaston, NY/Brooklyn Technical) and senior
Brendan Quinn (Raleigh, NC/Heritage) finished in the forefront for the men.
The group of Mulvehill, Zhang, freshman
Ryan McLoughlin (New Windsor, NY/Our Lady of Lourdes) and junior
David Mauro (Queensbury, NY/Glens Falls) won the 200-yard medley relay while the group of Mulvehill, Grunewald, Mauro and Quinn won the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:20.36).
In the 1000-yard freestyle, senior
Chris Farrell (Charlotte, NC/Rocky River) finished in front for 'Wick (10:30.81), while freshman
Javonte Herbert (Houston, TX/Cy Springs) (10:40.31) and classmate
Isaac Waide (East Haddam, CT/Nathan Hale-Ray) (10:45.46) took the next two finishes, respectively.
Quinn (1:47.41) and Grunewald (1:50.02) took the top spots in the 200-yard freestyle, respectively. Quinn (2:02.55) also took the 200-yard butterfly with teammate
Pacal Fernandez (San Pedro, CA/San Pedro) (2:07.64) coming in second.
Zhang, in the 100-yard backstroke, beat out his opponents (57.21). He also won the 200-yard backstroke in 2:00.53 and the 100-yard butterfly in 53.86. In the 200-yard backstroke, Quinn came in second (2:04.14).
Mulvehill took the 50-yard freestyle (21.80). Mauro finished in second (22.16) in the event. Mauro grabbed a first-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle in 49.63. Grunewald won the 500-yard freestyle (5:01.62).
McLoughlin finished ahead of his opponents in the 200-yard IM (2:04.98) with freshman
Yury Chernyak (Sidney, NY/Sidney) right behind him (2:05.69).
Senior
Rachel Bellis (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua Academy) took first place honors in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:17.39) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:35.09) for the Hartwick women. Freshman
Channing Lewis (Canton, OH/Canton McKinley) (5:35.89) and classmate
Geena DeFoor (Milmay, NJ/Buena Regional) (5:38.81) took the next two spots in the 500-yard freestyle, respectively.
In the 200-yard freestyle, Hayes finished in first (2:01.09). DeFoor came in behind her in 2:03.35. In the 50-yard freestyle, Hayes claimed the top spot in 25.20. She also came in first in the 100-yard freestyle in 55.89.
Senior
Ally Agate (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) won the 100-yard backstroke in 1:04.75. Sophomore
Steph Sacco (New Fairfield, CT/New Fairfield) won the 3-meter diving with a score of 85.65.
The group of sophomore
Taylor Diepold (Monroe, NY/Monroe Woodbury), freshman
Olivia Bart (Bristol, CT/Bristol Eastern), Bellis and Hayes won the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:46.57).
To wrap up its back-to-back, Hartwick will travel to RPI tomorrow, November 13
th. Meet time is 1 p.m.
