ONEONTA, NY – The Hartwick women's volleyball team handed Cobleskill its first loss this season in a sweep. On the road, the Hawks took the game in three sets each by a nine-point margin or greater. Hartwick improves to 3-2 while Cobleskill falls to 3-1.
In the first set, the Hawks defeated the Fighting Tigers, 25-16. The Hawks executed 16 kills to register a .333 hitting clip, the highest of any set of the match. Outside hitter
Hannah Armstrong (Lansing, NY/Lansing) led the team with 11 kills total while right side
Rosa Maun (Redstone, CO/Roaring Fork) (10) and outside hitter
Kaitlyn Ludder (West Sand Lake, NY/Averill Park) (5) also contributed offensively.
The Hawks took the second set by a wide margin, 25-12. They won again in the third and final set, 25-14.
Hartwick was led in assists by setters
Jamie Reidy (Elmira, NY/Horseheads) and
Erin Russell (Wantagh, NY/Seaford) who each clinched 11. Maun tabbed seven blocks while
Alyssa Zeitler (Chardon, OH/Berkshire) and
Andrea Debboli (Troy, NY/Averill Park) each added seven digs.
The Fighting Tigers totaled 18 assists, 16 of which came from Mackenzie Holbert. Gabby Clark and Kasey Williams accumulated 10 digs apiece.
Next, Hartwick will look to win three straight matches as it host both King's College and SUNY Delhi this Friday at Lambros Arena.
