ONEONTA, NY – The Hartwick women's volleyball dominated visiting SUNY Cobleskill winning each set by 10 points or more, 3-0, on Wednesday evening at Lambros Arena. Having won five of its last six, 'Wick improves to 9-8 overall while the Fighting Tigers drop to 5-10.
The Hawks prevailed 25-15 in the first set, 25-14 in the second and won by their largest margin in the third with a 25-11 set score.
Erin Russell (Wantagh, NY/Seaford) tallied a game-high 15 digs while also garnering a block assist.
Kaitlyn Ludder (West Sand Lake, NY/Averill Park) (10 kills),
Katie Boak (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) (14 digs) and
Maria Sorriento (Troy, NY/Troy) (11 digs) also attained double-figures in their respective categories.
Rosa Maun (Redstone, CO/Roaring Fork) landed seven kills on .417 hitting, registered two solo blocks and four block assists.
Jamie Reidy (Elmira, NY/Horseheads) added 12 more helpers to her collection.
Cobleskill's Karyn Knaul connected on five kills while Emily potter landed four. The Fighting Tigers' offense was also commanded by Mackenzie Holbert's eight assists. Jazmina Syed's 10 digs came second on the team to Potter's 14.
Saturday, October 7, the Hawks will battle in their second Empire 8 crossover this season facing Houghton at 1:30 p.m. and Alfred at 4 p.m.
