SCRANTON, PA – Nationally twenty-second ranked Scranton University (7-1) topped Hartwick's women's basketball team 81-48 on Friday night in the second game of the Hilton Scranton Poinsettia Classic in Scranton, PA.
Hartwick (1-5) was paced by
Kelly Pine's (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls) College-best 21 points on the night.
Caitlin Corbett (Altamont, NY/Guilderland) and
Alexa DuBois (Hobart, NY/South Kortright) each added 10 points apiece for the Hawks.
The Hawks would shoot 38% from the floor in the contest with the Royals hitting 57% from the field. The hosts would also knocked down 11 three-pointers in the contest.
Pine connected on seven of her 12 shots from the floor and made all seven of her free throws. She also tied for a game-high with three steals.
To go along with her 10 points, Corbett also dished out a game-high seven assists, tied for a team-best four rebounds, and added three steals.
DuBois pulled down four rebounds, contributed two assists, and added a steal.
Kelsey Collins (Forestburgh, NY/Eldred Central) added four points and two steals.
Isley Sterling (Wilton, NY/Saratoga Springs) scored three points and grabbed three rebounds.
Scranton was led by Bridgette Mann and Julia Gantz, who each scored 17 points. Makenzie Mason scored 13 with Katie Feehery adding 11.
Hartwick plays tomorrow against FDU-Florham. Tip-off is 2 p.m.
