ONEONTA, NY – Hartwick's Class of 2017 celebrated Senior Day in style as they combined for 59 points, 27 rebounds, 14 assists, 11 steals, and nine three-pointers on Saturday in a 79-68 win over visiting St. John Fisher.

Jacqui Foreman (Tolland, CT/Tolland),
Courtney Cirillo (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown),
Anna Hickey (Falmouth, ME/Falmouth),
Sarah Shaw (Franklin, MA/Franklin), and
Liz Harvey (Berne, NY/Berne-Knox/Westerloo), who were all playing in their final regular season home game, were recognized prior to the contest.
Stone tied a career-high with 26 points to lead all scorers. She shot 7-of-11 from the floor, sank all four of her three-point attempts, and hit 8-of-10 from the free-throw line. Stone also had four assists and two steals.
Jacqui Foreman (Tolland, CT/Tolland) registered a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds to go along with four steals, and three assists. It was her ninth double-double of the season.
The victory for the Hawks puts their overall record at 17-8. They end the Empire 8 campaign with a 13-3 record and will be the third seed in the upcoming conference tournament next weekend.
Hartwick would lead by as many as eight points in the opening quarter but had to settle for a one-point edge after 10 minutes as the Cardinals closed on a 10-3 run.
The lead changed hands four times with three ties in the second quarter. The Hawks led by just three, 34-31, with 1:11 left before the break, but three-point baskets from Shaw and
Carly Johnson (Greenville, NY/Greenville Central) made it a 40-33 game heading into the locker room.
Hartwick widened its gap with a 21-7 run to start the third quarter with Stone leading the way with 11 points in the rally. Her three-pointer with 4:17 left in the quarter opened up the Hawks' biggest lead of the game at 58-37. Thirteen points would be as close as Fisher would get over the next 12 minutes and it never threatened the Hawks the rest of the day.
Shaw would be the only other Hawk in double figures with 10 points. She contributed five rebounds, game-highs of five steals and three blocked shots, a team-high four assists, and a trio of three-point baskets.
Cirillo had seven points and seven rebounds while Hickey added nine points. Johnson finished with six points on two threes.
Hartwick made 45.8% of its shots from the field and knocked down 12 three-pointers, which tied a season-high. Fisher shot 40.7% as a group and held a slight edge in rebounds, 38-35.
The Cardinals were paced by Emily Piacentini's 15 points. Maria Kelleher added 12 and Nicole Robinson chipped in with 10.
Stevens Institute of Technology claimed the top seed in the 2017 Empire 8 Tournament thanks to its win today over Nazareth. The Ducks will open with #4 St. John Fisher on Friday, February 24 at 6 p.m. at Canavan Arena. The third-seeded Hawks play #2 Ithaca at 8 p.m. with the championship slated for Saturday at 4 p.m.
