ITHACA, NY –
Lex Richards' (Northport, NY/Northport) goal for Hartwick field hockey six minutes into the contest brought the early part of the game to a draw before host Ithaca scored two more goals to put the game away, 3-1, Wednesday afternoon at Higgins Stadium. This contest puts both the Hawks and the former conference foe at 3-2 for the season.
The first of Michaela Donohue's two tallies, at 2:36, put the Bombers on the board before Richards answered in the early 6
thminute.
Donohue would score the go-ahead goal about four minutes into the second half before Maria McGloin's settled the score at the 50:06 mark.
Brooke Singer (Johnson City, NY/Maine-Endwell) fired five shots, four of which were stopped by Ithaca keeper, Savanna Lenker.

Maggie Stauble (Kingston, NY/Kingston) also was credited with a defensive save.
On Saturday, September 16 at 1 p.m., the Hawks travel to Brockport before returning for a four-game home stand.
