Recap: Hartwick Volleyball swept Baruch 3-0 but lost a four-setter to St. Lawrence on Saturday at the Oneonta Dig Pink Invitational. The Hawks close out their season with a record of 11-12. Against Baruch, the Hawks won by scores of 25-10, 25-15, and 25-16 as they cruised to victory.
Kiera Walsh (Burnt Hills, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) led the offense with 11 kills.
Myla Dobson (Burnt Hills, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) added nine and
Dell Potts (Niverville, NY/Ichabod Crane) contributed six.
Katie Boak (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) and
Jamie Reidy (Elmira, NY/Horseheads) each had four service aces. In the second match, the Saints would edge out the Hawks in each of the first two sets by scores of 25-23. 'Wick battled back in the third set to cut its deficit in half, 28-26. St. Lawrence grabbed an early lead in the fourth set. The lead grew to as many as nine, 20-11, but the Hawks won 10 of the next 14 points to trim the gap to three. A Saint kill, however, would close out the set and match.
Maria Sorriento (Troy, NY/Troy) had a match-high 19 kills in the contest.
Celia Gagnon (Kinderhook, NY/Ichabod Crane) added 11. Reidy dished out 40 assists to go along with eight digs in her final match as a Hawk. Boak had 15 digs and Walsh added 11.
Andrea Debboli (Troy, NY/Averill Park) chipped in with seven digs in her last match in a 'Wick uniform.
