ONEONTA, NY – Hartwick men's swimming and diving won 13 events and rolled past SUNY Oneonta 182-111 Saturday at Moyer Pool. The Hawks are now 7-1 on the season.
Hawks would finish 1-2-3-4 in two events and 1-2-3 in four others on the day.
Aron Zhang (Douglaston, NY/Brooklyn Technical) led the way with three individual wins.
Yury Chernyak (Sidney, NY/Sidney) and
Max Ferrick (Westford, MA/Westford Academy) each had two with four other Hawks securing victories.
Zhang won the 100 back in 53.68.
Brennan Walsh (Westerville, OH/New Albany Plains) was second and
Rowan Poppen-Eagan (Puyallup, WA/Puyallup) was third. Zhang also was the victor in the 100 fly (53.31).
Kaelan Betrian (Curacao, Netherlands Antilles/Trinity Christian) was second. Zhang won his third event of the day in the 200 IM (1:59.57). Chernyak was second,
Hunter McRee (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks East) was third, and
Colin Leonard (Slingerlands, NY/Bethlehem) took fourth.
Chernyak was the winner of the 100 breast (58.75). He was followed by McRee and
Bill Tague (Alpine, NY/Odessa Montour). Chernyak also won the 200 breast (2:10.27). Tague was second and McRee was third.
Ferrick took the top spot in the 200 free (1:49.01).
Ryan McLoughlin (New Windsor, NY/Our Lady of Lourdes) was second. Ferrick also won the 200 fly in 2:04.92.
Nathan Marshall (St. John's, Antigua and Barbuda/St. Anthony's) took first in the 50 free (22.18).
Michael Baione (Poughquag, NY/Arlington) placed second with
Zach Skelton (Honeoye Falls, NY/Honeoye Falls-Lima) taking third. Baione was first in the 100 free (48.89) followed by Marshall,
Joshua Garces (Lilburn, GA/Brookwood), and Skelton.
Brennan Walsh (Westerville, OH/New Albany Plains) swam to victory in the 200 back (2:06). Poppen-Eagan was second. McLoughlin (4:55.56) and Ferrick finished 1-2 in the 500 free.
Zhang, McLoughlin, Betrian, and Baoine teamed up to win the 200 medley relay in 1:38.28. Baione, Marshall, Betrian, and Skelton combined to win the 200 free relay (1:36.95).
