DELHI, NY – Hartwick men's tennis took two of three doubles matches and four of six in singles to top Oswego State on Wednesday in a match played at SUNY Delhi. The Hawks improve to 4-1 while the Lakers fall to 3-4.
John Talbot (Middlesex, NY/Marcus Whitman) and
Nikola Nedeljkovic (Portland, OR/Sunset) recorded an 8-2 victory in first doubles to start the day.
Nick Adamou (New Milford, CT/New Milford) and
Jack Steinman (North Haven, CT/North Haven) improved to 4-1 on the year with an 8-3 victory in second doubles.
With a 2-1 lead, four Hawks won in straight sets to secure the team victory. Talbot improved to 4-1 with a 6-0, 6-2 win in the first flight. Nedeljkovik was a 6-2, 6-2 victor in second doubles. Adamou provided the clinching victory with a 7-5, 6-2 win in the third flight.
Casey Serdiouk (Margaretville, NY/Margaretville Central) added one more win, 6-2, 7-6 (7-4), in sixth singles. Steinman was edged out in a marathon three-setter, 3-6, 6-4, 12-10.
Hartwick is next in action on Sunday, April 15 against Elmira on the road beginning at 1 p.m.
